Reporting to the Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for generating sales leads, acquiring new customers, and achieving sales targets within the company.
You will play a vital role in identifying new business opportunities, building a strong sales pipeline, and promoting Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance and related logistics services.
Key Responsibilities
Generate sales leads through various channels, including cold calling, networking, referrals, field prospecting, and industry events.
Qualify leads and assess their potential to become customers.
Maintain a pipeline of sales opportunities and track progress in CRM systems.
Develop and execute sales strategies to acquire new customers and expand the customer base.
Maintain a strong presence in the market through regular prospect and customer visits.
Identify and develop business opportunities across Ocean Freight, Air Freight, Customs Clearance and related logistics services.
Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, competitor activities, and customer needs.
Prepare and deliver compelling sales presentations to prospective customers, showcasing the company's services and value proposition.
Customise sales proposals and quotations based on customer requirements and market conditions.
Negotiate pricing and contract terms with customers to secure profitable business agreements.
Ensure compliance with pricing guidelines and company policies.
Build relationships with prospective customers and convert qualified opportunities into active and profitable business.
Collaborate with other departments, such as Operations and Pricing, to ensure smooth onboarding and service delivery.
Support timely collection of receivables for assigned accounts.
Prepare sales reports and provide regular updates on prospecting activities, pipeline development, customer acquisition and sales performance.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years of genuine field/B2B sales experience, preferably in the logistics or freight forwarding industry.
Strong B2B sales professionals from other relevant sectors may also be considered.
Proven ability to prospect, develop new business opportunities and acquire new customers.
Strong knowledge of logistics services, industry trends, and market dynamics.
Existing knowledge/network within the Lagos importer/exporter market would be an advantage.
Proficiency in English (written and verbal).
Fluency in MS Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint) and general internet navigation and research skills.
