Responsibilities

  • Promote and grow the ECORIC biofungicide brand across key agricultural regions in Kenya
  • Focus on sales and promotion among flower farms and tea plantations
  • Travel regularly to farms for direct product promotion, demos, and farmer engagement
  • Plan and execute marketing and advertising campaigns within the agricultural sector
  • Work closely with our international team to expand market reach and drive sales growth
  • Represent the company at exhibitions, field days, and client presentations
  • Provide feedback from farmers and distributors to support product development and strategy

Requirements & Skills

  • Proven sales experience is mandatory
  • Specialization in agricultural sales, preferably in flowers and tea crops
  • Previous experience in agriculture is a strong advantage
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Technical understanding of crop protection products is a plus
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
  • Willingness to travel extensively to farms across Kenya
  • Minimum 3 years of sales experience
  • Strong interest in agricultural products and sustainable farming solutions
  • Self-motivated, responsible, and goal-oriented
  • Proficiency in English and basic computer literacy (emails, reporting, MS Office)

  • We are specifically looking for specialists based in or familiar with the main flower and tea farming regions of Kenya:
  • Meru, Lake Naivasha, the Mount Kenya region, Timau, Nanyuki, Naivasha, Nakuru, Thika, Athi River, Isinya (Kajiado), Laikipia, Nyandarua, Kericho, Trans Nzoia, Uasin Gishu, Nairobi, Kiambu.

Conduct regular customer visits and maintain strong relationships with existing customers. Prepare quotations, product proposals, and sales reports as required. Follow up on leads, quotations, orders, and outstanding customer requirements. Monitor customer buying patterns and identify opportunities for upselling and cross-selling. Support the company in expanding its customer and distribution network. Agronomic & Technical Support Provide professional agronomic advice to farmers, agrovet customers, and other clients. Recommend appropriate agricultural inputs based on crops, pests, diseases, soil conditions, and customer requirements. Provide guidance on correct product application, dosage, timing, handling, and safe use in accordance with approved product labels and applicable regulations. Diagnose common crop pests, diseases, and production challenges and recommend appropriate solutions. Conduct farm visits and field assessments where required. Support customers in developing crop production and crop protection programs. Provide technical support on fertilizers, seeds, crop protection products, biostimulants, and related agricultural solutions. Where applicable, provide basic technical support on veterinary products within the scope of the employee's qualifications and approved product information. Market Development & Customer Engagement Conduct product demonstrations, farmer training, field days, and customer education sessions. Develop strong relationships with farmers, agrovet owners, agricultural officers, farm managers, and other industry stakeholders. Gather market intelligence on competitors, pricing, products, promotions, and emerging customer needs. Identify new market opportunities and recommend products that can address identified market gaps. Represent the company at agricultural exhibitions, trade fairs, farmer events, and promotional activities. Stock & Product Management Work closely with the warehouse and procurement teams to monitor product availability. Communicate customer demand and market trends to the relevant teams to support stock planning. Monitor fast-moving and slow-moving products and provide recommendations. Ensure products are correctly promoted and communicated to customers. Support proper handling and responsible use of agricultural and veterinary products. Reporting & Administration Maintain accurate customer records and sales activity reports. Submit daily/weekly/monthly sales reports as required. Maintain an updated sales pipeline and customer database. Track sales performance against assigned targets. Prepare reports on customer visits, market activities, product performance, and competitor activities. Ensure all sales activities comply with company policies and applicable regulatory requirements. Requirements QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE Education: Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Horticulture, Crop Protection, Plant Science, or a related field. A Diploma in Agriculture/Agronomy may be considered for candidates with strong relevant sales experience. Experience: At least 2 - 4 years' experience in agribusiness, agricultural inputs, agrochemicals, fertilizers, seeds, crop protection, or a related sales environment. Experience working with agrovets, distributors, stockists, farmers, commercial farms, or agricultural institutions is highly desirable. Proven experience in achieving sales targets and developing new markets. Experience in technical product selling and farmer/customer training will be an added advantage. KNOWLEDGE & TECHNICAL SKILLS The successful candidate should have knowledge of: Crop production and crop management. Crop pests and diseases. Fertilizers and plant nutrition. Agrochemicals and crop protection products. Seeds and other agricultural inputs. Integrated pest management. Agricultural market dynamics.
