Registrar (medical) (medicine: Internal)

SALARY : Grade 1: R1 041 402 per annum, (A portion of the package can be structured according to the individual's personal needs).

CENTRE : Groote Schuur Hospital, Observatory

REQUIREMENTS :

• Minimum educational qualification: Appropriate qualification that allows registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA) as a Medical Practitioner. Registration with a professional council: Registration with the HPCSA as a Medical Practitioner (Independent Practice).
• Inherent requirements of the job: Commuted overtime is compulsory. Each Registrar will be appointed in a specific training complex but could be required to work across the platform on request. Emergency and after hour call cover.
• Competencies (knowledge/skills): Appropriate and sufficient clinical experience since obtaining the degree of MBChB and after completion of internal medicine rotations. Effective leadership & interpersonal skills. FCP (SA) Part 1. Knowledge, expertise and experience with regards to providing medical services in assessment, diagnosis and treatment of inpatients and outpatients. Post community service experience in Internal Medicine on an equivalent clinical platform. Previous research experience and publication.

DUTIES :

• Clinical Service Provision. Effective Clinical Administration in patient records and patient reports.
• Participate in the Teaching Programme. Research and Professional Development (incl. completion of MMED).
