Assist the Maintenance Department with daily air conditioning and refrigeration maintenance activities under supervision.
Gain practical experience in the installation, servicing, maintenance and repair of HVAC and refrigeration systems.
Assist with routine inspections, preventative maintenance, fault identification and basic repairs of air conditioning and refrigeration equipment under supervision.
Assist with monitoring equipment performance, identifying faults and reporting maintenance requirements.
Assist with the maintenance of heat pumps, ventilation systems and associated mechanical equipment.
Assist with the safe handling and maintenance of tools, equipment and materials.
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, practical training and workplace experience.
Adhere to occupational health and safety requirements, company policies and procedures.
Support general maintenance activities and departmental tasks as required.
Requirements
Grade 12
Proof of completion of an N6 Qualification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning obtained through a recognised TVET College
Basic knowledge and understanding of heating, ventilation, air conditioning (HVAC) and refrigeration systems
Basic knowledge of mechanical systems, tools and equipment
Good communication and interpersonal skills
Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
Ability to follow instructions and work under supervision
Willingness to learn and develop practical technical skills
