Job Requirement

• A Bachelor's Degree in Land Economics, Real Estate, Valuation, Commerce, Finance or equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Served in the grade of Rates Officer II or in an equivalent and relevant position for a minimum period of three (3) years.
• Knowledge of the National Rating Act, 2024, the Nairobi City County Revenue Administration Act, 2021 and the Public Finance Management Act, 2012.
• Proficiency in computer applications and revenue management systems.
• Integrity and commitment to produce results, with ability to work with minimum supervision.
• Meet the requirements of Chapter Six of the Constitution of Kenya, 2010.

Job Description

The Rates Officer I will be responsible for the following functions: -

• Assessing and collecting land rates in the assigned Sub-Counties.
• Identifying un-rated properties and updating the rates register.
• Serving rates demand notices and following up on arrears.
• Preparing land rates collection returns.
• Any other duties as may be allocated by the supervisor.
