R&d Lead Ãâ¢ã‚â€ã‚â“ Home Care & Personal Care At Fadac Resources

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the research, formulation, development, testing, and launch of new home care and personal care products.
• Formulate and optimise existing products to improve quality, performance, cost-effectiveness, and product stability.
• Identify and evaluate suitable raw materials, including locally sourced alternatives, to support product quality and cost efficiency.
• Ensure product formulations, testing, documentation, and registration processes comply with applicable NAFDAC and SON standards.
• Coordinate product scale-up from laboratory formulation to commercial production, ensuring consistency and quality.
• Conduct product performance, stability, compatibility, and quality tests.
• Collaborate with Marketing, Quality Assurance, Production, and Supply Chain teams to align product development with business objectives and market needs.
• Monitor industry trends, consumer preferences, new technologies, and emerging raw materials to identify product development opportunities.
• Lead, mentor, and support junior R&D team members to ensure effective execution of research and development activities.
• Maintain accurate records of formulations, test results, product specifications, and development processes.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Industrial Chemistry, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years' experience in research and development, formulation, and product development within the home care and/or personal care industry.
• Proven experience developing and successfully launching products from concept to commercial production.
• Strong knowledge of formulation chemistry, surfactants, emulsions, preservatives, fragrances, and other relevant raw materials.
• Practical experience with product testing, stability assessment, quality optimisation, and production scale-up.
• Familiarity with NAFDAC and SON regulatory requirements and product registration processes.
• Knowledge of local raw material sourcing, supplier evaluation, and cost optimisation.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, project management, and leadership skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple product development projects.
