Qa Testing Engineer Intern At Afripoint Group Limited

About the Role

• We are looking for a QA Testing Engineer Intern to join our Technology team.
• The ideal candidate should have a basic understanding of software testing and development processes, strong attention to detail, and an interest in identifying and resolving software defects.
• The successful candidate will work closely with developers, product managers and other team members to ensure that software products meet quality and functionality requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with test planning and test case development.
• Conduct manual testing to identify bugs, defects and functionality issues.
• Execute test cases and accurately document test results.
• Support the development and maintenance of automated test scripts.
• Perform regression testing following new code changes and product updates.
• Document and maintain QA records and testing reports.
• Log, track and follow up on identified issues using Jira or other issue-tracking tools.
• Collaborate with developers and product managers to investigate and resolve identified issues.
• Participate in software development and testing activities within Agile or other development environments.
• Assist with continuous improvement of testing processes and QA practices.

Requirements

Educational Background:

• Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's Degree / HND in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Relevant certifications, training or practical experience in software testing will be an advantage.

Technical Skills:

• Basic understanding of software development processes, including Agile and Waterfall.
• Familiarity with manual software testing, including test case execution and documentation.
• Exposure to automated testing tools such as Selenium, JUnit, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of issue-tracking systems, particularly Jira.
• Basic understanding of programming concepts and scripting languages such as Python, Java, or similar.
• Basic understanding of software quality assurance and testing principles.
• Knowledge of databases and SQL is an added advantage.
