The Purchasing Officer will be responsible for managing the organisation’s procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and efficient acquisition of goods, services, and materials. The role involves identifying and evaluating suppliers, obtaining and analysing quotations, negotiating prices and terms, preparing purchase orders, and ensuring that purchases comply with approved budgets, procurement policies, and quality standards. The officer will maintain accurate procurement records, monitor supplier performance, and coordinate with internal departments to ensure that operational requirements are met without unnecessary delays or costs.
The Purchasing Officer will also build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, monitor stock and purchasing requirements, and support effective inventory management. The role requires conducting market research to identify competitive suppliers and cost-saving opportunities, resolving procurement-related issues, and ensuring timely delivery of ordered goods and services. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong negotiation, analytical, organisational, communication, and problem-solving skills, with a high level of integrity and attention to detail.
