Purchasing Manager

Purpose

• A leading resort in Athi River with over 70 executive villas is looking to fill a manager role.
• The Purchasing Manager will manage and source quality goods and services at the best value and keep the resort well stocked.

Job Description

Key responsibilities

• Source, evaluate and negotiate with suppliers; maintain an approved supplier list.
• Process purchase requisitions and orders in line with approved budgets and authority limits.
• Receive goods, check quality and quantity, and reconcile with invoices.
• Coordinate with stores and departments to manage stock levels and avoid shortages and waste.
• Track prices, savings and supplier performance.
• Report on purchasing spend and stock to the General Manager.

Qualifications and experience

• Diploma or degree in Procurement, Supply Chain or Business; CIPS/KISM an advantage.
• 3+ years in purchasing, preferably in hospitality.
• Strong negotiation, numeracy and record-keeping skills; high integrity.

Terms

• 3 month's probationary period
• 2 years renewable contracts subject to satisfactory performance
• Housing and food will be provided.
