My client (mining) is looking for someone to own how its capital projects are approved, structured, tracked and reported.
You'd be the process authority for project set-up and control in SAP PS, working across engineering, finance, procurement and site teams.
The business needs an experienced project controls or project delivery authority who can embed disciplined project governance and reporting. This is someone people go to for the answer on how a project should be set up, approved and reported.
Key Responsibilities:
The project lifecycle from concept to close-out, including stage gates and approvals under delegations of authority
WBS standards and the governance of project definitions and changes
Monthly cost reviews, variance analysis, EAC forecasting and change control, flagging overruns early
Portfolio reporting for site, regional and executive leadership, from one reconciled source of truth
Capitalisation and close-out with Finance: capex vs opex, assets under construction and handover under IFRS
SAP PS process ownership, plus coaching project managers, engineers and cost controllers
Required Skills
8+ years in project controls, cost engineering or project delivery, including a lead or senior role
Capital project experience in mining, resources, EPCM or heavy industry
Working SAP PS knowledge: project definitions, WBS, budgets and settlement
A proven governance record: stage gates, DoA and change control
Strong EAC, earned value and IFRS capitalisation fundamentals
Clear writing for senior audiences, and the confidence to challenge numbers that don't stack up
