The Project Officer will be responsible for:

  • Supporting coordination of county-level activities and stakeholders in both Kakuma and Dadaab.
  • Supporting stakeholder mapping and engagement to identify key actors, influence, power dynamics,and opportunities for building coalitions for education reform.
  • Supporting coordination of participatory processes for co-creating education systems- strengthening strategies, action plans, and change pathways with stakeholders.
  • Implementing activities in accordance with GCN policies, partner requirements,
  • Contributing to the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
  • Maintaining an organized system for filing and retrieving financial records and supporting documents. safeguarding standards, and relevant government policies and frameworks.

Qualifications, Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences or any other related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience, preferably in the NGO sector.
  • Ability to engage effectively with communities and stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and coordination skills.
  • Ability to engage and mobilize diverse groups of community members and stakeholders.
  • Strong facilitation skills, including familiarity with training in participatory methods, and excellent organizational and time-management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with significant experience working with children affected by crisis/conflict .
  • Commitment to human/children's rights and an understanding of rights-based approaches and their application.
