Project Civil Engineer Coordinator (in House) At Aldelia Limited

SERVICE DIMENSIONS

• The Project Engineer serves as the Company's resident in-house engineering and project delivery authority across Company's EP Nigeria Limited facilities in Nigeria. The role holder is responsible for supporting and driving the full project lifecycle, from scope definition, conceptual planning, engineering coordination, cost estimation and approval support, through procurement, construction supervision, commissioning, handover and as-built documentation. This is a technically demanding, multi-site role requiring a seasoned professional who can independently translate management requirements into executable project plans, supervise contractors and consultants, monitor cost, schedule, quality and HSE performance, and ensure that completed works meet Company specifications, approved drawings, regulatory requirements and good engineering practice.

SERVICE CONTENT ACTIVITIES

Project Definition, Planning & Cost Control

• Translate management requirements and user briefs into a clear scope of works, implementation strategies and delivery plans.
• Prepare and/or coordinate bills of quantities, cost estimates, budget risk analysis, safety risk analysis and project execution plans for management approval.
• Establish work procedures for each work package from concept and engineering dossier preparation through procurement, fabrication/workshop works and site execution.
• Monitor project budgets, schedules, changes and risks, and recommend corrective actions where deviations are identified.

Engineering Coordination, Design Review & Documentation

• Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering inputs required for project delivery, including civil, structural, architectural, mechanical and electrical interfaces.
• Review drawings, specifications, method statements and contractor submissions to confirm alignment with approved scope, Company requirements and applicable standards.
• Ensure that engineering dossiers, working documents, change-control records and approved-for-construction documentation remain complete and current.
• Support the preparation, review and validation of technical specifications, contract drawings and project documentation required for tendering and execution. Construction Supervision & Quality Control
• Provide day-to-day supervision of assigned projects across Company locations, ensuring works are executed safely, correctly and in accordance with approved documents.
• Verify contractor compliance with approved drawings, specifications, work procedures, quality plans, HSE requirements and contract obligations.
• Conduct quality assurance and quality control inspections, identify defects/non-conformances and follow up closure of corrective actions and punch-list items.
• Supervise testing, inspection and approval of materials, components and completed works before acceptance.

Project Reporting, Stakeholder & Contractor Management

• Prepare periodic site activity and project performance reports covering progress, quality, cost, risk, HSE and key issues requiring management attention.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, internal stakeholders and facility users to support effective execution and timely resolution of site constraints.
• Document meetings, instructions, variations, risks and decisions to maintain a clear audit trail throughout the project lifecycle.
• Escalate critical issues promptly and propose practical solutions to maintain project objectives and business continuity.

Commissioning, Handover & Close-Out

• Coordinate pre-commissioning, commissioning, completion checks and client/user acceptance activities for assigned projects.
• Confirm that completed works conform to approved drawings, specifications and agreed scope before recommending acceptance.
• Ensure timely preparation, review and filing of as-built drawings, handover dossiers, close-out reports and lessons learned.
• Support site demobilization and any other project-related activities as may be assigned by the Manager, Works & Projects.

CONTEXT AND ENVIRONMENT

• Sites Covered Abuja: Total House 1 & 2, Guest House, residential and external sites. Port Harcourt : Main Base, Company's Village, residences and external sites. Other Special Projects and Works construction sites as required.
• Travel Requirement
• Regular travel to Company locations and project sites based on project needs, inspections, contractor coordination, and operational exigencies.
• Key Constraints
• Multi-site coordination across geographically dispersed locations; varying contractor capability and familiarity with Company standards; live facility interfaces; budget, schedule, quality and HSE pressures during execution.
• Enabling Factors
• Access to Company specifications, standards and reference documents; defined reporting and escalation paths; established facilities/project management processes; support from internal technical and administrative stakeholders.

• Familiarize self with COMPANY'S emergency procedures, carry out assigned responsibilities safely and report any incident, unsafe act or operation.
• Ensure all personnel under his/her supervision are well trained and aware of their HSE responsibilities with continuous monitoring.

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE

• Minimum of a Bachelor of Engineering (B.Eng.) or Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.) degree in Civil Engineering or a relevant engineering discipline from a recognized institution.
• Registration with the Council for the Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN) is mandatory.
• Membership/registration with the Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE) is required or strongly desirable, in line with Company requirements. Professional Experience
• Minimum of 7 years' post-qualification experience, with at least 8 years' cognate experience in project execution, construction supervision or facilities/infrastructure project management.
• Demonstrates experience delivering building, infrastructure and construction projects from planning through close-out, preferably within the oil and gas, energy or large corporate multi-site environment in Nigeria.
• Proven ability to supervise contractors, manage site activities independently, assess progress and make sound technical/project decisions.
• Verifiable experience in project planning, scope development, cost estimation, BOQ preparation, risk assessment, inspection reporting and project close-out documentation. Technical Competencies
• Strong knowledge of engineering design codes of practice, construction standards, quality assurance/quality control requirements and HSE expectations applicable in Nigeria and relevant international frameworks.
• Competence in the preparation and review of scopes of work, technical specifications, bills of quantities, cost estimates, contract drawings, execution plans and progress reports.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and Microsoft Office applications; working knowledge of MS Project, Primavera, advanced Excel and PowerPoint is an advantage.
• Good understanding of architectural, civil/structural, mechanical and electrical interfaces in building and infrastructure works. Personal Attributes

• Quality, accuracy and timeliness of site inspection reports, progress updates, punch lists and management reports.
• Completeness and currency of project records, as-built drawings, handover dossiers and close-out documentation.
• Effective contractor coordination, issue escalation and resolution, evidenced by reduced rework, clear audit trail and satisfactory stakeholder feedback.
