To supervise daily production activities and ensure the efficient manufacturing of products in accordance with established quality, safety, and productivity standards. The incumbent will oversee production operations, monitor manufacturing processes, manage production personnel, and apply chemical knowledge to ensure product consistency and process optimization.
Education & Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Chemistry, Industrial Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Biochemistry, or a related science discipline.
Minimum of 4-7 years' experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in FMCG, personal care, food, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries.
At least 1-2 years in a supervisory role.
Key Responsibilities
Production Operations
Supervise and coordinate production activities to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
Ensure adherence to approved manufacturing processes, formulations, and operating procedures.
Monitor production performance and implement corrective actions to address operational challenges.
Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, and raw materials.
Coordinate shift activities and ensure smooth handover between shifts.
Minimize production downtime and wastage.
Process Monitoring & Control
Monitor critical process parameters to ensure product quality and process efficiency.
Investigate process deviations and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
Support continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs.
Participate in process validation and optimization projects.
Quality Assurance
Ensure compliance with quality standards, GMP requirements, and company procedures.
Monitor in-process quality checks and ensure products meet required specifications.
Liaise with the Quality Assurance team on product quality issues and corrective actions.
Review production records and ensure accurate documentation.
Team Leadership
Supervise production operators and technicians.
Assign duties and monitor employee performance.
Conduct on-the-job training and coaching for team members.
Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.
Address employee grievances and escalate issues where necessary.
Health, Safety & Environment
Ensure strict compliance with all Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies.
Promote safe working practices and the proper use of PPE.
Conduct routine safety inspections and identify potential hazards.
Participate in incident investigations and implement corrective measures.
Inventory & Resource Management
Monitor raw material consumption and production yields.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and utilization of production materials.
Coordinate with Stores and Supply Chain teams to prevent material shortages.
Monitor and report production waste.
Reporting & Documentation
Prepare and submit production reports.
Maintain accurate records of production activities, downtime, quality deviations, and material usage.
Analyze production data and provide recommendations for operational improvements.
