Job Summary

  • You will own the international remittance and cross-border money movement vertical. While Sycamore's core Payments PM manages domestic clearing (NIP, cards, accounts, billers), this PM will specifically build and optimize inbound/outbound international corridors (e.g., UK/Diaspora to Nigeria), foreign exchange (FX) management engines, and regulatory remittance reporting.
  • You will coordinate closely with the parent payments squad to utilize existing domestic payment rails for local pay-outs, while establishing specialized integrations with overseas aggregator partners, clearing switches, and FX liquidity providers.
  • You will act as the dedicated product owner ensuring strict adherence to UK data protection, access controls, and underwriting compliance while working closely with group engineering teams.

Core stack

  • Rails: Cross-Border Messaging, Settlement Switches, NIBSS NIP Inwards/Outwards
  • FX & Compliance: Dynamic FX Rate Feeds, AML/Sanctions Screening, CBN IMTO Reporting Engines
  • Analytics & Databases: SQL, Metabase, Postman (API debugging)
  • Product & Delivery Management: Jira, Superhuman docs, Slack

Key Responsibilities

  • Cross-Product Adaptation: Collaborate with Sycamore's Group PMs (Payments especially) to adapt existing group modules (e.g., NIP rails etc.) to the IMTO entity.
  • IMTO Product Strategy: Design and launch Sycamore's dedicated IMTO and international remittance capabilities, starting with primary corridors (such as GBP to NGN).
  • Core Payments PM Alignment: Partner with the Parent Payments PM to reuse existing local payment rails (NUBAN generation, NIP inwards/outwards) for local settlement and last-mile payouts.
  • FX Rate & Margin Engine: Build and maintain dynamic FX pricing mechanisms that deliver competitive customer rates while protecting Sycamore from currency volatility and settlement arbitrage.
  • Corridor & Partner Integrations: Lead technical integrations with international payment partners, overseas switches, correspondent banking channels, and local settlement banks
  • Remittance Compliance & AML: Build automated monitoring for cross-border transaction thresholds, suspicious activity flags, AML/PEP checks, and real-time regulatory compliance reporting for the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN).
  • Cross-Border User Experience: Collaborate with UX designers to build intuitive sender and receiver experiences across web and mobile, ensuring full transparency on exchange rates, fees, transfer tracking, and arrival times.
  • Communicate project status, key metrics, and updates to relevant stakeholders, including the Product Manager, development team, and senior management.
