Position Scope
Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, Analysis and Projects, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting group procurement strategy to achieve objectives of lowering costs of critical goods and services while reducing supplier risk and increasing supplier value.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Participating in the developing of an enabled roadmap towards best practice process efficiency and effectiveness;
- Participating in developing and tracking procurement metrics including areas of spending, requisition to pay process, operational efficiencies and supplier performance;
- Monitoring supply markets and market/cost drivers and share insights and benchmarks from the industry with key stakeholders and senior management;
- Contributing to research and analysis of price and innovation trends for goods and services procured by the group;
- Liaising with the manager to provide detailed analysis and information which may have financial, technical and or legal impact and sourcing decisions;
- Participating in supplier selection, bid evaluation and post tender negotiation process;
- Providing the business units with critical logistical and administrative information and support necessary to plan and budget their needs;
- Providing support in identifying cost reduction opportunities through process automation, variety reduction and standardization and supply base and purchasing cycle rationalization;
- Monitoring and analysing current trends in the marketplace;
- Contributing to management by reporting on procurement key performance indicators.
Qualifications / Skills / Experience
- A bachelor's degree in supply chain, procurement, logistics or related qualifications.
- Minimum 6 years of work experience with at least three in a similar position
- Professional certification in Supply Chain Management/ Diploma in Purchasing and supplies/Logistics Management
- A member of KISM/CIPS/CSPS
- Strong interpersonal skills including communication, negotiation, analytical persuasion, motivation, problem solving and flexible
- Good negotiation skills
- Strong financial reporting, planning and organizational skills
- Should have thorough knowledge of the relevant industry/sector as well as knowledge of regulatory requirements affecting the relevant sector
- Must have ability to plan, organize, implement and evaluate assigned goals
- Must demonstrate ability to handle multiple and conflicting priorities, and work under strict deadlines.
- Should have strong analytical and be result oriented
- Must have high standards of integrity and ethical practice
- Must be capable of functioning effectively both as a team player and a team leader
