The Process Optimizer is responsible for improving the efficiency, quality, and productivity of molding operations by analysing manufacturing processes, optimizing machine performance, and reducing waste.
The role works closely to ensure consistent product quality while achieving production and cost targets.
Key Responsibilities
Analyse molding processes to identify bottlenecks, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
Optimize molding machine parameters (e.g., temperature, pressure, injection speed, cooling time, and cycle time) to maximize productivity and product quality.
Monitor Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and implement initiatives to improve machine utilization and performance.
Conduct root cause analysis on production issues such as defects, scrap, downtime, and machine failures, and implement corrective actions.
Reduce material waste, improve yield, and optimize material consumption.
Collaborate with Maintenance to improve equipment reliability and reduce unplanned downtime through preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
Support new product introductions by establishing robust molding processes and validating production readiness.
Monitor production KPIs, including cycle time, scrap rate, and machine downtime
Identify automation opportunities to improve production efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Work closely with Quality Assurance to ensure products meet customer specifications and regulatory requirements.
Train production operators and technicians on optimized processes, best practices, and continuous improvement techniques.
Participate in process validation, capability studies, and quality improvement initiatives.
Prepare reports and present process performance, improvement initiatives, and cost-saving opportunities to Molding Team Lead.
