Job Summary
We are seeking a Principal Offshore Structural Engineer to provide offshore civil/structural engineering expertise and support the HA & HB-Buko projects.
These projects aim to deliver approximately 350-450 MMscf/d of gas to the NLNG Train-7 from 2029+, as well as 25-30 kb/d of oil and condensate for export.
The role involves providing technical input and assurance throughout the project lifecycle, from conceptual and FEED through detailed design, procurement, construction, installation, and commissioning, to safeguard design, technical, and operational integrity.
Responsibilities
Ensure engineering design, procurement, fabrication, construction, and installation are done in compliance with standards, project objectives, HSSE, and contractual requirements.
Define civil/structural scope of work, specifications, and requirements as part of ITT packages, applying systems engineering and requirements management best practices.
Perform technical studies and carry out structural analysis and design using SACS and other civil/structural design software.
Provide discipline expertise to manage contractor delivery of design and specialist work in line with project cost, schedule, quality, and HSSE requirements.
Review and provide technical assurance to FEED and detailed design deliverables.
Define geotechnical investigation work scope and perform foundation design.
Supervise and assure quality of fabrication and site construction works.
Drive innovative solutions to achieve economic performance requirements and cost efficiency throughout the facilities lifecycle.
Manage multiple technical and non-technical interfaces and stakeholders, and manage technical risk through expert review of deviations to standards.
Provide discipline input at safety workshops and value assurance events such as HAZID, HAZOP, VARs, and peer reviews.
Requirements
Required:
Minimum of a bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineering.
NSE and COREN membership.
Minimum of 14 years' experience in civil/structural engineering within the oil and gas industry.
Proficiency in the use of SACS software for offshore structures design.
Knowledge of HSSE frameworks and international engineering standards, best practices, and systems.
Strong team, personal, and people management skills, committed to learning and continuous improvement.
Good communication skills and ability to function effectively in a multi-ethnic, multi-disciplinary environment.
Good leadership, coaching, negotiating, decision-making, and interpersonal skills.
Preferred:
Experience with offshore platforms, FPSOs, or onshore terminals is desirable.
Demonstrable record of successfully delivering structural engineering solutions for new projects and existing asset integrity.
