Responsibilities
Act as a senior practitioner in laboratory, performing complex/specialised laboratory testing and providing a clinical/technical resource to colleagues.
Provide day-to-day guidance and checking of junior staff and trainees.
Support biosafety compliance and quality assurance at section level.
Contribute to audit, quality improvement and CPD.
Requirements
Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science (BMLS) from a recognised institution.
Completion of the required national internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
Minimum of 5 years of post-registration experience in the relevant profession and post-registration experience in medical laboratory science practice beyond entry level.
Experience supporting and guiding junior medical laboratory science staff.
Required skills:
Advanced knowledge of laboratory practice across disciplines.
Ability to perform complex/specialised testing and guide junior staff.
Sound understanding of quality control and biosafety.
Equipment competence and fault identification.
Effective communication and record-keeping.
Nice to have:
