The Equity & Multi Asset team runs South Africa focused strategies within Ninety One's Investments department. The portfolio specialist team works closely with SA Client Group (institutional and advisory) and Marketing, as well as Attribution, Product, Operations, and Risk & Performance, to deliver distinctive, investment strategies and drive net flows into both SA unit trusts and institutional strategies.
In this role you will:
Work with Investments, Client Group and Marketing to ensure effective messaging and competitive positioning of SA Equity & Multi Asset strategies, including latest thinking, insights, portfolio positioning, performance and attribution
Ensure the quality, consistency, accuracy and timely delivery of SA Equity & Multi Asset strategy marketing materials, including presentations, RFP responses, commentaries and other collateral
Assist with product strategy, development and management as it relates to SA Equity & Multi Asset strategies
Support a team of external sales managers by providing technical information on markets, funds, positioning of core funds, and opportunities in the marketplace
Respond to technical client queries, including follow-ups after client meetings, and perform quantitative analysis on funds and competitor funds using Morningstar and Bloomberg
Compile analytical packs for client report-backs, monthly sales and management reports (net flows, AUM, industry statistics), and facilitate report-backs, due diligences, workshops and portfolio manager meetings
You should consider applying if you have:
BCom or equivalent tertiary qualification in Economics or Finance (CFA an advantage)
5 - 7 years' industry related experience
Knowledge of financial markets and instruments (equities, bonds), with an analytical mindset and portfolio construction experience an advantage
Strong professional presentation skills
System skills in Excel, PowerPoint, Morningstar and Bloomberg (an advantage)
Multi-tasking, attention to detail to ensure accuracy, organisational and prioritisation capabilities
An outgoing, motivated, self-starting personality who enjoys regular client contact, can work in a team with limited supervision and deadline-driven
