Job Requirements

For appointment to this grade, candidate must have:

• Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) mean grade D plain or its equivalent;
• Passed Suitability Test for Plant Operators Grade III;
• Valid Plant Operator Certificate from NITA/NCA- Trade Test Grade II or I
• A valid driving license free from any current endorsement(s) for class(es) Class B, C, E, G an officer is required to drive;
• Be able to operate at least two (2) Plants of 'difficult rating' C (Grader or Excavator or Roller in road construction - Not Quarry Only) and perform pre-checks, greasing and minor maintenance;
• Attended a First-Aid Certificate Course lasting not less than one (1) at St. John Ambulance or Kenya Institute of Highway and Building Technology (KIBHT) any other recognized institution; and
• A valid certificate of Good Conduct from the Kenya Police.
