About the role

Assesses and treats patients requiring physiotherapy, delivering rehabilitation care and contributing to the effective running of the service.

Responsibilities

• Assess, plan and deliver physiotherapy and rehabilitation interventions for patients.
• Manage an assigned caseload and deliver care to professional standards.
• Maintain accurate clinical records and outcome measures.
• Apply patient-safety and infection-prevention standards.
• Participate in audit and quality-improvement activities.

Required skills

• Knowledge of physiotherapy assessment and rehabilitation practice appropriate to the role.
• Ability to plan and deliver evidence-based interventions for an assigned caseload.Sound clinical record-keeping and outcome measurement.
• Effective communication with patients, families and colleagues.
• Ability to work within a multidisciplinary team.

Nice to have

Specialty certification relevant to the area of practice.Membership of the Nigeria Society of Physiotherapy.

Experience

• Minimum of 1 year of post-registration/post-internship experience in the relevant profession; newly registered practitioners may be considered. Post-registration experience in physiotherapy practice.
• Experience working within a multidisciplinary hospital team.

Education

• Bachelor of Physiotherapy / BSc Physiotherapy (or BMR-PT / equivalent recognised qualification) from a recognised institution.
• Completion of the required national internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
