About the Role
We are seeking a highly skilled and analytical Petroleum Liquids Market & Trading Specialist. with a strong background in capital markets tjoin our team. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between physical and financial energy markets, driving the structuring, trading and facilitation of energy-backed commodities on our exchange platform.
This role requires an individual whunderstands the complexities of Petroleum Liquids value chain (upstream tdownstream). Knowledge of capital market instruments, regulatory frameworks and trading mechanisms is a plus.
Key Responsibilities
Product Structuring & Listing: Collaborate with market participants tstructure, develop, and list innovative oil and gas financial instruments (e.g., energy derivatives, forward contracts, and asset-backed securities) on the exchange.
Market Making & Liquidity Facilitation: Drive market liquidity by engaging with brokers, dealers, institutional investors, and physical oil and gas off-takers.
Trading & Execution: Monitor and facilitate energy commodity trading activities on the exchange platform, ensuring orderly, transparent, and efficient market operations.
Capital Market Compliance: Ensure all oil and gas trading activities and structured products strictly align with capital market regulations and exchange rules.
Risk Management: Analyze market trends, price volatility, and geopolitical factors tassess and mitigate risks associated with energy contracts and physical settlement processes.
Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary liaison between the Exchange and key industry stakeholders, including the SEC, domestic and international oil companies (IOCs/INDIEs), refineries, and financial institutions.
Required Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related discipline. Professional certifications (e.g., CIS, SEC-registered sponsored individual, CFA, or FRM) are highly advantageous.
Experience:
Minimum of 7 to 10 years of active experience in Petroleum Liquids trading (physical or paper/derivatives).
Hands-on experience working within the capital markets (e.g., investment banking, asset management, commodities exchange, or securities trading).
Deep understanding of energy market dynamics, pricing benchmarks (such as Brent), hedging strategies, and clearing/settlement processes.
Proficiency in financial modeling, data analytics and using trading terminals/platforms.
Key Competencies
Strong analytical and quantitative skills tevaluate complex financial structures.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and presentation skills tinterface with C-suite executives and regulatory bodies.
High ethical standards and a strong grasp of compliance and risk controls.
Ability twork collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-pressure financial market environment.
