We are looking for a hardworking, detail-oriented, and responsible Packing Officer to oversee and coordinate the packing and preparation of goods within the Warehouse and Supply Chain Department. The successful candidate will ensure that customer orders are picked, checked, packed, labelled, documented, and prepared for dispatch accurately, securely, and efficiently.
The Packing Officer will also support the effective coordination of packing activities, maintain accurate records, monitor packing materials, assist with inventory checks, and ensure compliance with company procedures, quality standards, and warehouse safety requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Coordinate and carry out the picking and packing of customer orders according to approved packing lists and work instructions.
Verify that the correct products, specifications, quantities, and packaging requirements are met before orders are packed.
Inspect goods for visible damage, defects, or discrepancies before packing.
Ensure products are packed securely and appropriately to prevent damage during handling, storage, and transportation.
Ensure all packages are properly labelled with the required product, customer, order, handling, and dispatch information.
Cross-check packed orders against packing lists, sales orders, or other relevant documentation before dispatch.
Report damaged, missing, excess, or incorrect items to the Warehouse Supervisor or relevant authority for resolution.
Ensure completed orders are properly recorded in the warehouse management system or required documentation.
Coordinate the movement of completed and verified orders to the designated dispatch area.
Monitor and maintain adequate supplies of cartons, labels, tapes, wrapping materials, pallets, and other packing materials.
Assist in organizing and controlling packing materials to minimize waste and unnecessary costs.
Maintain accurate records of packing activities, completed orders, discrepancies, and other relevant warehouse information.
Assist with stock counts, inventory checks, and reconciliation of physical stock with warehouse records.
Support the identification and reporting of stock discrepancies, damaged goods, and packing-related issues.
Ensure the packing area is clean, organized, and free from hazards at all times.
Ensure proper handling, storage, and movement of goods in accordance with company procedures.
Support the Warehouse Supervisor in coordinating daily packing activities and meeting dispatch deadlines.
Assist in training or guiding Packing Assistants on proper packing procedures and safety requirements where necessary.
Follow company policies, standard operating procedures, quality requirements, and warehouse health and safety rules.
Perform other duties related to warehouse and packing operations as assigned by the supervisor or management.
Requirements
Educational Qualification
Bachelor's Degree (B.Sc., B.A., B.Tech., or equivalent) in Logistics and Supply Chain Management, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Operations Management, Industrial Management, Economics, or a related discipline.
Professional Qualification
Training or certification in Warehouse Operations, Logistics, Packaging, Inventory Management, or Supply Chain Management is an added advantage.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years' experience in warehouse operations, packing, inventory, logistics, or a similar role.
Previous experience coordinating packing activities or working in a warehouse environment is an added advantage.
