Job Position: Operations Executive – Customs Clearing

Job Location: Port Harcourt, Rivers

Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Operations Executive – Customs Clearing to coordinate import and export customs clearance, ensure regulatory compliance, and facilitate the timely and cost-effective release of cargo.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and process import/export customs clearance documentation.
• Liaise with licensed customs agents, the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), shipping lines, port terminals, and relevant regulatory agencies.
• Coordinate customs declarations, duty assessments, cargo examinations, and release procedures.
• Verify shipping documents, invoices, packing lists, permits, and other clearance requirements.
• Track shipments, resolve clearance delays, and address documentation discrepancies.
• Monitor customs duties, port charges, demurrage, detention, and other clearance costs.
• Coordinate cargo collection, release, and handover to haulage teams.
• Maintain accurate records and provide regular shipment status updates.
• Ensure compliance with customs regulations, port procedures, and company policies.

Requirements

• BSc/HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 4–6 years of relevant experience in customs clearing, shipping, or freight forwarding.
• Strong knowledge of Nigerian customs procedures, import/export documentation, and port operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• Strong documentation, communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to manage multiple shipments, meet tight deadlines, and work effectively with stakeholders.
• Relevant customs or logistics certification is an added advantage.

Salary

N500,000 - N700,000 per month.
