We are seeking an experienced Operation & Maintenance Engineer to oversee the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of electric motor or gas engine-driven CNG compressor packages and associated equipment.
The ideal candidate should have strong hands-on experience in CNG compressor operations, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, safety compliance, and equipment reliability.
Responsibilities
Operate and maintain CNG compressor packages to ensure maximum uptime and minimum downtime.
Monitor compressor operating parameters, including pressure, temperature, oil levels, vibration, and running hours.
Carry out routine inspections, start-up and shutdown procedures, and emergency response activities.
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on compressors, gas engines, motors, valves, piping, cooling and lubrication systems.
Troubleshoot and resolve mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, PLC, alarm, and control-system faults.
Carry out leak detection, pressure checks, equipment isolation, depressurization, and safe restoration after maintenance.
Inspect and maintain gas detectors, flame detectors, emergency shutdown systems, safety valves, gauges, and other safety equipment.
Replace filters, seals, gaskets, hoses, spark plugs, lubricants, and other consumable/wear components as required.
Maintain accurate operating logs, maintenance records, service history, and breakdown reports.
Monitor maintenance schedules, running-hour service intervals, spare parts, lubricants, and other maintenance requirements.
Requirements
Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Automobile Engineering, or a related field.
5 - 8 years of relevant experience in CNG compressor operation and maintenance, gas compression, oil & gas, CGD, industrial gas, or a related environment.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience with reciprocating compressor maintenance and breakdown troubleshooting.
Strong knowledge of compressor operation, gas engines, multistage compression, lubrication, cooling, and pressure systems.
Experience with PLC/HMI-based control systems and basic electrical/instrumentation troubleshooting.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to PTW, LOTO, and CNG safety procedures.
OEM experience with CP, Atlas Copco, KPCL, TCPL, or equivalent compressor packages is an added advantage.
Relevant OEM, CNG safety, fire & gas, LOTO, first aid, vibration, or reliability maintenance certification is an added advantage.
