Job Purpose

  • The Onne Security Coordinator is responsible for the overall security of the Onne Security Base and surrounding operational areas. The role involves implementing the Company Security Plan, coordinating security personnel and Government Security Forces, monitoring security systems and equipment, conducting investigations, and ensuring the protection of company personnel, assets, facilities, and operations.

Key Responsibilities

Security Operations

  • Develop, maintain, implement, and regularly exercise the Onne Base Security Plan.
  • Conduct regular security inspections and patrols across the Onne Base, including the quay-side and staging areas.
  • Maintain appropriate security measures across all operational and work areas.
  • Regulate access to the warehouse, base, and surrounding facilities.
  • Coordinate checks of personnel, vehicles, trucks, equipment, and materials entering and leaving the base.
  • Ensure unauthorized removal of company equipment or materials is prevented.
  • Coordinate the activities of Government Security Forces (GSF) deployed to the base.
  • Coordinate the deployment of Civil Guards to the base and surrounding facilities.

Access Control & Personnel Security

  • Conduct security inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
  • Conduct VPSHR inductions for security personnel and Logistics/HSE teams.
  • Vet personnel requiring access badges to the base and surrounding facilities.
  • Ensure personnel with specific security responsibilities understand their roles and receive appropriate instructions.
  • Ensure security procedures are understood and consistently implemented.

Intelligence & Investigations

  • Gather, collate, analyze, and disseminate relevant security information.
  • Investigate security-related incidents and prepare accurate investigation reports.
  • Monitor and report occurrences or activities that may threaten the security of the base.
  • Maintain accurate records of security incidents and occurrences.
  • Liaise with relevant GSF authorities within and outside the Onne Base, where authorized.

Security Equipment & Systems

  • Monitor security systems, personnel, and equipment.
  • Ensure surveillance and intrusion-detection equipment is correctly used, tested, calibrated, and maintained.
  • Identify and address gaps in security systems and procedures.

Stakeholder & Contractor Coordination

  • Hold regular meetings and interactive sessions with security managers of contracted companies operating at the site.
  • Attend security meetings and other meetings relevant to the security of the base and surrounding facilities.
  • Maintain effective coordination with base personnel, contractors, security agencies, Logistics, HSE, and other relevant stakeholders.

Context & Work Environment

  • Rotational work schedule.
  • High-risk, hostile, and volatile operating environment with potentially unpredictable situations.
  • Regular movement around the Free Zone, Onne Base, quay-side, and loading areas.
  • Requires a strong understanding of industrial security operations and the ability to respond effectively to security incidents.

Key Accountabilities

The Onne Security Coordinator is accountable for:

  • Overall security of the Onne Base and surrounding facilities.
  • Protection of company personnel, assets, equipment, and property.
  • Effective implementation of the Company Security Plan.
  • Proper coordination and deployment of security personnel and GSF.
  • Effective access control and security monitoring.
  • Accurate investigation, reporting, and documentation of security incidents.
  • Administrative effectiveness of all security activities.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree from a recognized institution.
  • Previous experience in industrial security, preferably within the Oil & Gas or related industry.
  • Military or Police background is required/preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience managing security personnel and security resources.
  • Good knowledge of security operations, access control, surveillance, investigations, and incident reporting.
  • Strong leadership and people-management skills.
  • Ability to manage personnel, equipment, and other security resources effectively.
  • Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a high-risk and volatile environment.
