We are currently looking to engage a highly competent and result-oriented Officer, Inventory & IT Support with strong personal & professional integrity to join our dynamic team.
The Officer, Inventory & IT Support will be responsible for ensuring that the University\'s IT and general assets are accurately recorded, properly allocated and reliably tracked throughout their lifecycle, keeping the institution\'s equipment accounted for and available. He/she will also provide responsive first-line technical support and excellent customer care to staff, students and visitors, ensuring issues are followed through to confirmed resolution or appropriate escalation.
- Maintain an accurate, up-to-date register of all IT and general assets, recording each item\'s full details before it is issued out.
- Receive and inspect deliveries, keep the store organized and secure, and retain all supporting documentation for audit purposes.
- Fulfil equipment and resource requests in line with university policy, issuing assets against signed forms tied to an accountable custodian.
- Monitor stock levels and reorder in good time, coordinate transfers between locations, and manage the return and recovery of assets, keeping allocation fair and transparent.
- Act as the first point of contact for IT issues, logging them in the ticketing system and providing Tier 1 troubleshooting.
- Set up and maintain devices and handle user accounts and password resets.
- Escalate complex problems to the appropriate IT specialists, maintain a knowledge base, and see every ticket through to confirmed resolution.
- Provide courteous and professional support across all channels, explaining technical matters plainly, responding promptly and following up.
- Handle complaints calmly, act on user feedback and safeguard the confidentiality of information.
- Comply with university policies, improve processes and documentation, and submit timely and accurate inventory and support reports.
Qualification & Experience
- Bachelor\'s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline.
- Demonstrated experience keeping accurate records and using inventory, asset or stock-management systems.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting common hardware, software and network issues.
- Knowledge of inventory and stock-control principles, including receiving, issuing, reorder levels and stocktaking.
- Proficiency in inventory/asset management systems and spreadsheets (e.g., Microsoft Excel) for records, reconciliation and reporting.
- Basic IT support skills: Windows/macOS, office applications, email, printers and basic networking (Wi-Fi, LAN).
- Basic ability to install, configure and maintain computer hardware, peripherals and software.
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills.
