Job Summary

• We are seeking an experienced Odoo Project Manager to lead the successful delivery of Odoo ERP implementation, enhancement and support projects.
• The Odoo Project Manager will be responsible for managing projects from mobilisation and requirements validation through configuration, development, data migration, testing, training, go-live and project closure.
• The role requires strong project management capability combined with a practical understanding of Odoo implementation. The successful candidate will coordinate Functional Consultants, Odoo Developers, clients and other stakeholders while maintaining clear ownership of scope, schedule, risks, dependencies, budget and delivery quality.

The Project Manager is responsible for managing delivery, while functional and technical decisions remain with the appropriate Functional Consultant or Odoo Developer.

Key ResponsibilitiesProject Planning & Delivery

• Manage Odoo implementation projects from initiation through go-live and closure.
• Develop and maintain project plans, milestones, timelines and delivery schedules.
• Coordinate implementation activities across Odoo modules and business workstreams.
• Plan and manage mobilisation, discovery, configuration, development, data migration, testing, UAT, training and deployment activities.
• Monitor progress against agreed scope, timeline and budget.
• Identify delivery dependencies and ensure they are actively managed.
• Ensure project activities have clear owners, deadlines and acceptance criteria.
• Coordinate controlled deployment and go-live activities.

Scope & Change Management

• Maintain clear visibility of the agreed project scope.
• Ensure requirements are assessed against the approved scope before work begins.
• Identify potential scope changes and prevent unapproved work from being introduced into delivery.
• Coordinate impact assessments with Functional Consultants and Developers.
• Maintain a change request log and ensure changes are appropriately estimated, documented and approved.
• Clearly distinguish defects, configuration changes, new requirements and change requests.

Client & Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary project delivery contact for the client.
• Establish effective working relationships with client project sponsors, business owners and key users.
• Lead project status meetings and governance sessions.
• Provide clear and concise updates covering progress, decisions, risks, issues, dependencies and next steps.
• Manage client expectations regarding scope, timelines and responsibilities.
• Escalate unresolved decisions or blockers through the agreed governance structure.

Team Coordination

• Coordinate the activities of Odoo Functional Consultants, Developers and other project resources.
• Ensure team members understand their responsibilities and delivery priorities.
• Facilitate communication between functional and technical resources.
• Track assigned tasks and follow up on outstanding actions.
• Manage resource allocation in collaboration with Delivery or Operations management.
• Ensure technical decisions are owned by the appropriate technical resource and functional decisions by the appropriate functional resource.

Requirements & Solution Governance

• Ensure business requirements are properly documented, reviewed and approved.
• Work with Functional Consultants to ensure requirements are translated into appropriate Odoo solutions.
• Encourage the use of Odoo standard/out-of-the-box functionality where it meets business requirements.
• Ensure customisation requests are properly assessed before development is approved.
• Maintain traceability between requirements, solution decisions, development and testing.

Data Readiness & Migration

• Ensure data migration requirements and responsibilities are established early in the project.
• Track client delivery of complete, accurate and appropriately formatted data.
• Coordinate data readiness activities with Functional Consultants and client business owners.
• Ensure migrated data is validated before production deployment.
• Escalate data-quality issues that could affect testing or go-live.

Testing & UAT

• Develop and manage the overall testing and UAT plan.
• Ensure appropriate test scenarios and acceptance criteria are established.
• Coordinate internal QA before functionality is released to the client for UAT.
• Track UAT results, defects, outstanding decisions and retesting.
• Ensure defects are distinguished from change requests.
• Obtain appropriate client UAT approval before go-live.

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

• Maintain project risk, issue, action and dependency registers.
• Identify risks early and coordinate appropriate mitigation actions.
• Escalate significant risks and issues promptly.
• Monitor dependencies including client decisions, data, third-party integrations and resource availability.
• Ensure critical blockers are visible to both internal and client stakeholders.

Budget & Resource Management

• Monitor project effort and consumption against approved budgets.
• Review timesheets and project task descriptions for accuracy.
• Identify potential budget overruns early.
• Monitor utilisation of assigned project resources.
• Provide regular project burn and budget reporting where required.
• Ensure additional work is not undertaken without appropriate commercial approval.

Training, Go-Live & Handover

• Coordinate end-user and administrator training.
• Ensure the client is operationally ready before go-live.
• Maintain a go-live readiness checklist.
• Coordinate deployment and post-go-live support activities.
• Ensure outstanding issues are documented and appropriately prioritised.
• Manage transition from implementation into support.
• Conduct project closure and lessons-learned activities.

Odoo Knowledge

The successful candidate should have practical knowledge of Odoo ERP implementation and ideally experience across several of the following modules:

• CRM
• Sales
• Purchase
• Inventory
• Accounting/Invoicing
• Project
• Website/eCommerce
• Helpdesk
• Employees/HR
• Manufacturing

The Project Manager is not expected to act as the Odoo Developer or Functional Consultant, but must understand the Odoo implementation lifecycle sufficiently to challenge assumptions, manage dependencies and coordinate delivery effectively.

• Proven experience managing ERP, Odoo or business application implementation projects.
• Strong project planning and delivery management skills.
• Experience managing multiple stakeholders and cross-functional delivery teams.
• Understanding of ERP implementation methodologies and lifecycle.
• Experience managing requirements, scope, risks, issues and change requests.
• Experience coordinating UAT, training, deployment and go-live.
• Strong client-facing and stakeholder-management skills.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple projects.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Commercial awareness and experience monitoring project budgets and resource utilisation.
• Ability to identify and escalate delivery risks before they affect project outcomes.

Desirable Qualifications & Experience

• Previous Odoo implementation experience.
• Odoo certification or formal Odoo training.
• PMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum or equivalent project management qualification.
• Experience working for an ERP/Odoo implementation partner.
• Experience delivering projects using both standard Odoo functionality and controlled custom development.
• Understanding of integrations, APIs and data migration at a project-management level.
