SALARY SCALE:

• R487 410 -R607 251 p.a. (excluding benefits)

TERM OF APPOINTMENT: PERMANENT

LOCATION: MIDDELBURG, MPUMALANGA (MP313)

REQUIREMENTS:

• Grade 12 plus National Diploma in Safety Management/ Occupational Health and Safety Management or equivalent relevant qualification (NQF 6). 2-3 years' relevant experience. Computer literacy MS Office packages. A Valid Code B Driver's License. Must pass the medical fitness examination. Required to work irregular working hours. Must be willing to travel and work in all stations and sites of Steve Tshwete local Municipality utilizing the municipal vehicle.

CORE/LEADING COMPETENCIES:

• Sound knowledge of Occupational Health and Safety and other related legislation. Workplace Safety. Good Administrative and Reporting abilities

KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS:

• Conduct health and safety inspections and audits; Investigate workplace accidents and incidents; Review the effectiveness of health and safety measures; Conduct on-the-job safety observations; Ensure compliance with the Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHS Act), COIDA, and other relevant legislation and regulations; Facilitate health and safety awareness training workshops for internal staff and contractors; Identify and report workplace hazards through hazard analysis; Evaluate the effectiveness of work procedures and processes; Monitor compliance with safe working procedures and provide guidance on the appropriate use of personal protective equipment (PPE) for specific environments; Coordinate employee medical examinations. Participate in enquiries by the department of Labour.
