Government Security Forces Coordination
- Serve as the key interface between the Company and Police, Military, and other Government Security Forces.
- Liaise with Police and Military Commands on law enforcement and security matters.
- Manage and coordinate GSF personnel deployed to Company operations.
- Monitor GSF performance, deployment, discipline, training needs, and operational effectiveness.
- Coordinate security interventions involving law enforcement agencies.
- Maintain effective liaison with relevant Police Commands and authorities.
VPSHR, ISPS & Security Training
- Drive implementation of Voluntary Principles on Security and Human Rights (VPSHR) initiatives across Company operations.
- Ensure GSF personnel comply with VPSHR and ISPS Code requirements.
- Develop and coordinate security inductions and refresher training for GSF personnel.
- Coordinate VPSHR and weapon-handling training.
- Support disciplinary processes for GSF personnel in line with applicable Police and Military regulations.
Security Risk & Incident Management
- Coordinate security risk assessments and investigations into security breaches.
- Ensure timely reporting and follow-up of security incidents, anomalies, asset losses, near misses, and security gaps.
- Participate in security audits and inspections of contractor locations, jetties, hotels, event centres, and other operational sites.
- Track and close out HSE/Security incidents and anomalies using relevant reporting tools.
- Support risk analysis for Marine & Shore operations within the South-Western region.
- Coordinate deployment of GSF personnel and resources to address identified security threats.
SPY Police Personnel Management
- Act as focal point for the administration of SPY Police personnel.
- Coordinate the deployment and administration of escort and intervention drivers.
- Liaise with the Nigeria Police on training, equipping, and administration of SPY personnel.
- Monitor compliance with Police regulations and codes of conduct.
- Coordinate disciplinary matters involving SPY personnel in liaison with Police authorities.
- Ensure professional performance of GSF personnel deployed to Company operations.
- Protect Company employees, contractors, and assets during operations in Lagos.
- Ensure compliance with Company Security Management System, VPSHR, and applicable security requirements.
- Ensure effective reporting, investigation, follow-up, and close-out of security incidents and police cases.
- Promote a strong security and safety culture among GSF personnel.
- Monitor compliance with applicable operating regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- 20+ years of experience within the Police or Military, with a minimum rank of Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) or equivalent military rank.
- University degree in any discipline.
- Strong leadership, relationship management, and team-building skills.
- Excellent decision-making, initiative, and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to adapt effectively to changing and complex operational environments.
- Strong supervisory, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and security reporting tools.
- Membership of a recognized security professional organization is an advantage.
- Security Management certification is an added advantage.
- The ideal candidate will be a senior Police or Military professional with extensive experience in Government Security Forces coordination, industrial/corporate security, security interventions, personnel management, investigations, risk assessment, and protection of personnel and assets within complex operational environments.
