Key Responsibilities
Oversee daytoday operations of both farms
Manage the full BSF production cycle: breeding, egg collection, larval rearing, harvesting
Monitor environmental conditions (temperature, humidity, lighting)
Manage sourcing, receiving, and processing of organic waste/feedstock
Ensure consistent availability of suitable feedstock
Implement contamination prevention measures
Maintain biosecurity, hygiene, and sanitation standards
Conduct quality checks on BSF products (eggs, larvae, frass)
Supervise, train, and coordinate farm technicians and employees
Allocate duties and monitor staff performance
Manage procurement of raw materials and farm inputs
Monitor inventory levels and coordinate distribution of finished products
Maintain accurate production and operational records
Analyse production data, yields, and mortality rates to identify improvements
Resolve production challenges and operational delays
Work with management to achieve production targets and KPIs
Support budgeting and forecasting of operational costs
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});reduce losses
Support research and implementation of improved BSF techniques and feed formulationsQualifications & Experience
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Agriculture, Entomology, Animal Science, Biological Sciences, or related field
3–6 years’ relevant experience in BSF farming, insect farming, or agricultural production
Practical knowledge of BSF biology, lifecycle, and bioconversion systems
Experience managing production teams and farm environments
Knowledge of organic waste/feedstock management
Experience maintaining production records and analysing operational data
