Network Operations Center (noc) Officer

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor network infrastructure, servers, systems and connectivity using NOC monitoring tools.
• Identify, troubleshoot and resolve network outages, performance issues and system alerts.
• Respond promptly to network incidents and escalate complex issues to the appropriate technical teams.
• Perform first-level troubleshooting of routers, switches, firewalls, servers and other network devices.
• Monitor network performance, availability and capacity.
• Maintain accurate records of incidents, resolutions and network activities.
• Perform routine system and network checks to identify potential problems before they affect operations.
• Coordinate with Internet Service Providers (ISPs), vendors and internal technical teams when required.
• Follow established incident management, escalation and service-level procedures.
• Prepare regular reports on network performance, incidents and downtime.
• Assist with network configuration, maintenance and infrastructure upgrades.
• Ensure compliance with established IT security and operational procedures.

Requirements

• B.Sc./HND in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Telecommunications or a related field.
• 1 - 3 years of experience in a NOC, network support or similar technical role.
• Good understanding of TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, DNS, DHCP and network troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with routers, switches, firewalls and network monitoring tools.
• Ability to troubleshoot connectivity and network performance issues.
• Good knowledge of Windows/Linux environments is an advantage.
• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CompTIA Network+ or equivalent are an advantage.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication and documentation skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and respond quickly to network incidents.
• Willingness to work shifts, including nights, weekends or public holidays where required.
