Prepare weekly entertainment and recreational activity schedules; advertise on information boards.
Organize special events and programs during high season, occasions and festivities.
Source entertainment groups for festivities.
Motivate guests to participate in activities through friendly interactions.
Ensure music and sports equipment are available and maintained.
Manage piped music in bars and restaurants as per prescribed genres and timings.
Act as resident DJ for themed music or disco nights.
Facilitate teambuilding activities using lodge facilities.
Assist guests on guided nature walks within lodge premises.
Maintain nature trails and mountain biking routes.
Man the Mountain Office on rotation; handle safari enquiries and bookings.
Plan and implement itineraries and logistics for confirmed bookings.
Receive mountain guests and groups courteously; conduct guest briefings.
Liaise with KWS mountain rescue team to ensure safe trips.
Request and prepare caretaker foods as per schedules.
Prepare monthly duty rota for mountain personnel; record staff attendance.
Prepare monthly manager’s reports and annual departmental budgets.
Plan driver and vehicle assignments.
Maintain custody of operational equipment (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});and documents; report repairs or damages.
Assist guides in documentation and receipting of collections.
Ensure proper billing and capture of revenues in Fidelio system.
Liaise with maintenance and caretaking teams to manage challenge course facilities.
Work with sales team to promote mountain operations, lodge activities and events.
Perform any other duties as required.Qualifications & Prerequisites
Qualifications & Prerequisites
KCSE OLevel certification (C Plain).
Professional training in Tour Guiding from KUC / KWSTI or recognized institution.
Membership in Mt. Kenya Guides & Porters Association.
Experience in mountain climbing/hiking.
Certified First Aid rescuer.
Training in wilderness survival tactics.
Valid Mt. Guide Tourism License.
Conversant with Mt. Kenya hiking routes.
Physically and medically fit to walk long hours in lowtemperature environments.
Technical climbing experience (advantage).
Excellent customer care and selling skills.
Ability to make decisions under stressful situations.
Strong communication skills; ability to interact with diverse clients.
Patient, respectful and empathetic with clients.
Basic understanding of weather patterns.
Previous experience as hotel animator.
