Job Purpose:

  • The Monitoring and Evaluation (M&E) Manager will be responsible for designing, implementing, and managing the monitoring and evaluation framework for all projects and programs at I&M Foundation.
  • This role is critical in ensuring the expected impact (Quantitative and Qualitative) of programs is defined before implementing programs, measuring the impact, ensuring accountability, informing strategic decision-making, and supporting learning within the organization and to the partners.

Roles & Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • M&E Framework Development:
  • Develop and refine M&E frameworks, tools, and processes aligned with the Foundation's strategy and values.
  • Establish performance indicators and metrics to assess program outcomes and impact.
  • Support grantee partners in strengthening their monitoring and evaluation capacities.

Data Collection & Analysis:

  • Lead the collection, management, and analysis of quantitative and qualitative data to track program performance and outcomes.
  • Ensure data quality, consistency and integrity.
  • Translate findings into actionable insights and evidence-based recommendations.
  • Manage data to ensure efficient data storage and analysis.

Reporting & Documentation:

  • Prepare high-quality M&E reports for internal and external stakeholders to communicate results and insights.

Capacity Building:

  • Train and support program staff and partners in M&E concepts, tools, and processes to ensure quality data collection and usage.

Learning & Improvement:

  • Facilitate periodic reflection and learning sessions with teams to assess progress and identify areas for improvement.

Compliance & Quality Assurance:

  • Ensure M&E processes meets the Foundation's requirements and industry best practices for ethical and accurate data use.

Strategic Support:

  • Provide MEL input into strategy development, program design and decision making.
  • Contribute to impact narratives for communications, fundraising or stakeholder engagement.
  • Keep abreast of trends, innovations and best practices in philanthropy, evaluation and social impact measurement

Academic Qualifications and Work Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Monitoring and Evaluation, Development Studies, Statistics, Social Sciences, or a related field.
  • At least 7+ years of relevant work experience in M&E, preferably within the non-profit or development sector.
  • Strong knowledge of M&E methodologies (e.g., RCTs, surveys, case studies, participatory evaluation).
  • Proficiency in data management and analysis tools (e.g., Excel, SPSS, STATA, Power BI, or similar).
  • Experience with digital data collection tools.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to synthesize complex information and present findings in a clear, actionable format.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
