Key Responsibilities
Manage daytoday general ledger accounting and ensure accurate, timely recording of transactions.
Perform monthend, quarterend and yearend closing activities.
Prepare and review journal entries, accruals, prepayments, provisions and depreciation.
Conduct regular balancesheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
Reconcile bank accounts, receivables, payables, fixed assets, tax accounts and other key balances.
Support preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements and management reports.
Maintain proper accounting records and supporting documentation.
Assist internal, external and statutory audits by preparing schedules and reconciliations.
Ensure compliance with accounting standards, company policies and local regulations.Tax Compliance
Support tax filings through KRA iTax platform.
Prepare, review and reconcile applicable tax returns.
Ensure accurate and timely tax payments and submissions.
Reconcile tax returns against accounting records and investigate variances.
Stay updated on Kenyan tax laws and KRA compliance requirements.
Support responses to KRA queries, audits and assessments.
Experience with eTIMS and other KRA systems is an advantage.Banking & Treasury Support
Support daily banking and treasury operations.
Perform regular bank reconciliations and follow up on outstanding items.
Practical experience with Stanbic Bank, Standard Chartered Bank or other major Kenyan banks preferred.
Experience with online corporate banking platforms required.Infrastructure / Project Finance Support
Support accounting and financial matters for infrastructure or projectbased operations.
Review financial and tax implications of procurement, service and construction contracts.
Collaborate with (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});procurement, operations, legal, HR and other departments on payment and cost allocation.
Monitor project expenditure, operating costs and related financial data.Required Skills & Experience
Required Skills & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, Economics or related field.
3–5 years’ relevant accounting experience with exposure to general ledger and monthend closing.
Practical experience with KRA iTax and Kenyan tax compliance.
Good knowledge of Kenyan tax laws and statutory reporting.
Experience in infrastructure, construction, transport, roads, energy, PPP or engineering sectors desirable.
Experience handling corporate banking transactions and reconciliations.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and ERP/accounting systems.
CPA(K), ACCA or equivalent professional qualification (completed or in progress) preferred.
Fluent written and spoken English required.
Effective communication with KRA, banks, auditors, suppliers and external stakeholders.
