Job Description

• The Midwife Officer II is responsible for delivering comprehensive maternal and neonatal healthcare services within KTHSMB facilities.
• The role involves antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care, assisting in safe deliveries, monitoring maternal and fetal health, and providing family planning and reproductive health services.
• The officer will ensure adherence to clinical protocols, infection prevention standards, and ethical practices while working collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to improve maternal and child health outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide antenatal, intrapartum, and postnatal care to patients
• Assist and manage normal deliveries safely
• Monitor maternal and fetal conditions during pregnancy and labour
• Provide immediate care to newborns after delivery
• Administer medications and treatments as prescribed
• Educate mothers on maternal, neonatal, and reproductive health
• Maintain accurate patient records and documentation
• Ensure adherence to infection prevention and control protocols
• Identify and refer high-risk cases appropriately
• Support family planning and reproductive health services.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Registered Midwife (RM) qualification
• Registration with Nursing and Midwifery Council of Nigeria
• Valid practicing license
• Strong maternal and neonatal care skills
• Good communication and patient care abilities
• Relevant experience.
• Computer literacy.
