Mercy Corps Regional Finance Director Jobs in Kenya;The Regional Finance Director serves as a member of the International Finance team and the Africa regional office, supporting the financial management function for the regional portfolio and overseeing initiatives led by the Africa regional team.Reporting to the VP of International Finance and the Deputy Regional Director (Operations), the Director collaborates closely with the Regional Controller to optimize financial resources across programs and departments, ensuring efficiency, compliance and strategic alignment with Mercy Corps’ policies and donor regulations.Essential ResponsibilitiesFinancial Management Oversight

Essential Responsibilities

Collaborate with Finance Directors & Managers across the region.

Conduct periodic support visits to country programs.

Monitor financial performance, identify risks and develop mitigation strategies.

Provide monthly reviews of financial health to senior leadership.

Oversee risk management processes and donor compliance.Awards Financial Management Support

Support startup, closeout and major events with budgets and tools.

Analyze and support financial forecasting and BvA management.

Provide input to cost proposals and review submissions.

Ensure compliance with policies and donor regulations.

Review audit reports and support corrective actions.Strategic Planning & Support Functions

Provide financial information to support strategic decisions.

Participate in regional SMT with risk analysis and strategic input.

Contribute to country strategic plans and operating budgets.

Manage regional department resources and indirect funds.

Present complex financial information to nonfinancial stakeholders.

Collaborate with donors, partners and government agencies.Recruitment, Capacity Building & Team Management

Support recruitment and onboarding of Finance leads.

Provide coaching and performance support to regional finance staff.

Build capacity through training, mentoring and development plans.

Promote collaboration and knowledge sharing across (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});teams.

Strengthen financial management skills within country offices.Safeguarding Responsibilities

Integrate safeguarding into financial management practices.

Minimum Qualifications & Transferable Skills

Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance; Master’s Degree, CPA or equivalent preferred.

10+ years of progressive international financial management experience within an INGO.

Supervisory experience required.

Experience in complex, fastpaced environments with ability to deploy to emergencies.

Strong leadership and communication skills.

Proven ability to manage multicountry financial operations.

Knowledge of US Government and EU donor regulations desirable.

Commitment to humanitarian principles and Mercy Corps’ mission.

Fluency in English and French required; regional languages desirable.

Frequent travel up to 25%.
