REQUIREMENTS FOR APPOINTMENT

• Be a Kenyan citizen
• A Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBChB) degree from a university recognized by the Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council.
• A Master of medicine in orthopedic surgery from a university recognized by Kenya medical practitioners and dentists Council.
• A Registration Certificate by Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• A Valid practicing license from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists Council.
• Specialist Recognition Certificate from Kenya Medical Practitioners and Dentists council
• Shown outstanding professional competence and administrative capacity and initiative in the general organization and management of the patients in the area of specialization.
• Certificate in Computer Application skills from a recognized institution

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Conduct comprehensive physical assessments and evaluate patient medical histories.
• Interpret X-rays, MRIs, and blood tests to identify injuries, degenerative diseases, or congenital deformities.
• Develop customized, patient-centric treatment plans balancing nonsurgical interventions with surgical options.
• Perform operative procedures, this may involve arthroscopy, joint reconstruction, spinal surgery, or trauma surgery following accidents.
• Monitor patient recovery in the hospital and during follow-up clinic visits.
• Work closely with physical therapists and rehabilitation specialists to ensure proper healing and restoration of function.
• Training, supervising and mentoring medical officers (intern) and other students.
