Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Field Coaching:
- Lead, motivate, and mentor a team of Medical Sales Representatives to meet and exceed individual and regional sales quotas.
- Perform regular joint field visits (ride-alongs) to evaluate sales techniques, client engagement, and product presentation quality.
- Provide continuous coaching, constructive feedback, and professional development support to team members.
- Assist in recruiting, onboarding, and training new medical sales reps on product lines, therapeutic areas, and compliance standards.
Sales Strategy & Territory Management:
- Develop and execute tactical territory plans to expand market coverage and drive product adoption.
- Monitor team Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), including daily visit counts, presentation conversion rates, and revenue pipeline.
- Identify high-value accounts, key opinion leaders (KOLs), and institutional clients (hospitals, diagnostic centers, pharmacy chains) to accelerate business growth.
- Allocate territory targets and reassign client portfolios as needed to maximize market opportunities.
Account Management & Clinical Engagement:
- Manage a select portfolio of key direct accounts and build strong relationships with senior medical staff, procurement officers, and specialists.
- Deliver persuasive product presentations and clinical information regarding pharmaceutical products, diagnostic tools, or medical equipment.
- Organize and lead clinical presentations, round-table discussions, and product demonstrations for doctors and healthcare professionals.
Reporting, Operations & Market Intelligence:
- Review daily field reports, call logs, and promotional expense reports submitted by the sales team.
- Analyze regional sales data, identify trends, and submit weekly/monthly sales forecasts to management.
- Track market trends, competitor activity, and pricing shifts, providing actionable feedback to marketing and strategy teams.
- Ensure all sales activities strictly comply with industry regulations, medical ethics, and corporate guidelines.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Education: Bachelor's Degree in Pharmacy, Pharmacology, Biological Sciences, Medicine, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field. Business degrees with medical sales experience are also considered.
- Experience: 3 - 5+ years of successful track record as a Medical Sales Representative or Territory Manager in pharmaceuticals, medical devices, or healthcare equipment.
- Leadership: 1 - 2 years of informal or formal leadership experience (e.g., senior rep, mentor, or acting lead).
- Industry Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare systems, clinical terminology, procurement processes, and relevant ethical sales practices.
