To provide clinical care in family medicine under appropriate supervision, managing patients across out-patient and in-patient settings with decreasing levels of supervision, and contributing to the safe and effective running of the family medicine service.
Responsibilities
Assess, diagnose and manage patients in family medicine with decreasing levels of supervision, appropriate to the level of the role, escalating appropriately.
Participate in clinics, ward rounds, on-call rotas and procedures as required, contributing to audit and quality-improvement activities.
Maintain accurate, timely clinical records and current MDCN registration/licence in line with internal clinical policy.
Work effectively within the multidisciplinary team, coordinating care with other services and supporting managed-care/HMO processes through evidence-based, cost-effective practice.
Requirements
Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS or MBChB) from a recognised institution. Completion of the required national housemanship/internship and NYSC, or a valid exemption where applicable.
Minimum of 3 years of post-NYSC clinical experience, including time at Medical Officer I grade or equivalent.
Required skills:
Sound clinical knowledge relevant to family medicine and the ability to manage presentations appropriate to the role.
Sound clinical record-keeping and competent use of hospital clinical systems
