We are seeking a competent and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Scientist to join our team.
The ideal candidate will perform laboratory investigations, ensure accurate and timely reporting of results, maintain quality standards, and support clinicians in delivering excellent patient care.
Key Responsibilities
Perform and validate clinical chemistry tests using manual and automated methods.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot laboratory equipment.
Conduct internal quality control and support external quality assurance programmes.
Review and report results accurately and promptly, escalating critical results appropriately.
Maintain proper records, reagent inventory, and equipment logs.
Follow laboratory safety, infection prevention, and quality management procedures.
Work collaboratively with clinicians and other laboratory staff.
Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or an equivalent recognised qualification.
Current professional licence and registration with the relevant regulatory body.
Specialty training or experience in Chemical Pathology/Clinical Chemistry.
Experience with automated chemistry analysers and laboratory information systems is an advantage.
Strong attention to detail, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work shifts, where required.
