JOB PURPOSE: The Medical Activity Manager is responsible for the overall management and implementation of health and nutrition programs at the LGA level, working in close coordination with relevant LGA health authorities. The incumbent conducts regular monitoring visits to health facilities, nutrition sites, and vaccination sites to ensure service quality and provide ongoing technical support to program teams. Additionally, they oversee monthly data collection from all supported facilities, analyze trends, prepare comprehensive monthly reports, and submit them to the Medical Technical Manager. RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide technical support and guidance to doctors, nurses, midwives, vaccinators and clinical teams across health facilities to ensure high-quality care. Ensure all sites maintain up-to-date clinical protocols and guidelines in compliance with Ministry of Health standards. Conduct regular monitoring visits (at least weekly) to health facilities and outreach sites to verify that health service delivery aligns with organizational quality guidelines. Complete quality monitoring checklists, compile field trip reports, and submit them to the Medical Technical Manager. Collaborate closely with the Field Pharmacist to perform accurate forecasting of medicines and medical supplies, ensuring monthly consumption reports are prepared and submitted on time. Verify the continuous availability of essential medicines, vaccines, and a functional cold chain system. Support the field team with health needs assessments and other technical surveys based on programmatic requirements. Supervise facility data focal points to ensure accurate data entry into morbidity registers and the timely preparation of monthly reports. Thoroughly review monthly consultation and consumption data for consistency and reliability prior to submission to the MEAL team. Ensure that all supported health facilities maintain robust medical emergency and preparedness plans alongside adequate stocks of essential medicines and supplies. Immediately investigate suspected disease outbreaks and report findings to the line manager without delay. Supervise the Community Health Supervisor and vaccinators to guarantee that micro-plans for fixed and outreach immunization sessions are effectively in place and implemented. Maintain regular communication with Local Health Authority authorities, updating them on programmatic progress and operational challenges while proactively seeking their support. Carefully review and verify all financial documents for accuracy and compliance before forwarding them to the Medical Technical Manage Education & Professional Requirements: Education: Advanced university degree in medicine (MBBS) Register with Medical and Dental Council of Nigeria and License. Professional requirements: Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience in the humanitarian sector specifically working in fragile and unstable environments at a senior management level. Essential computer literacy (word, excel and internet) Demonstrate experience with different donors’ compliance and reporting Personal requirements: Leadership, people management and development Teamwork and cooperation Strategic vision Service orientation Understanding of humanitarian operations principles, standards and best practices commitment to INTERSOS Principles Languages Proficiency in English (written and spoken) Knowledge and fluency in English and local languages (Hausa and Kanuri) will be an asset.
