Media Officer (nysc Ppa / Internship)

Job Summary

Candlelight Special Needs is seeking a creative, proactive, and motivated Media Officer to support its media, communications, and digital content activities.

The ideal candidate should have skills in video editing and graphic design, while knowledge of motion graphics and animation will be an added advantage. The successful candidate will help create engaging digital content, document organisational activities, and support campaigns promoting special needs awareness and inclusion.

The role is primarily remote; however, applicants must be based in Lagos and available to attend physical events and organisational programmes when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit videos for social media, campaigns, events, and organisational activities.
• Design graphics, flyers, banners, and other digital communication materials.
• Create motion graphics and animations where necessary.
• Support social media content creation and digital communications.
• Capture photographs and videos during physical events and programmes.
• Assist with content planning and media campaigns.
• Organise and maintain digital media files.
• Ensure appropriate consent and respectful representation when creating content involving children and individuals with special needs.

Requirements

• Basic to intermediate skills in video editing using tools such as CapCut, Adobe Premiere Pro, or DaVinci Resolve.
• Graphic design skills using Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or similar tools.
• Knowledge of motion graphics and animation is an advantage.
• Good communication skills, creativity, and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with social media platforms and digital content trends.
• Access to a suitable device and reliable internet connection.
• Must be based in Lagos and available to attend physical events when required.

• Current NYSC corps members seeking a suitable PPA.
• Students, recent graduates, and other eligible candidates seeking internship opportunities.
• Applicants with practical creative skills and a portfolio of previous work are encouraged to apply.
• Extensive professional experience is NOT required.
