We are seeking experienced and technically competent Mechanical Technicians to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of mechanical equipment on offshore production platforms.
The successful candidates will be responsible for performing preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on rotating and static equipment, including pumps, compressors, valves, piping auxiliaries, gearboxes, and mechanical drives.
The role requires strong hands-on mechanical maintenance experience, sound troubleshooting ability, and a strong commitment to safety and equipment reliability in an offshore oil and gas environment.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance on rotating and static mechanical equipment.
Maintain and troubleshoot pumps, compressors, valves, piping auxiliaries, gearboxes, mechanical drives, and associated equipment.
Conduct equipment inspections, alignment, lubrication, condition checks, and mechanical troubleshooting.
Diagnose equipment faults and implement appropriate corrective actions in accordance with approved procedures.
Support planned shutdowns, equipment overhauls, commissioning, start-up, and reinstatement activities.
Monitor equipment condition and identify defects or early signs of mechanical failure.
Maintain accurate maintenance records, equipment history, work orders, and spare-parts usage records.
Support equipment reliability and maintenance improvement initiatives.
Execute maintenance activities in accordance with Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), isolation, and offshore HSE requirements.
Qualifications & Experience
HND, Bachelor's Degree, or Technical Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline.
8 - 12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream E&P exposure.
Proven hands-on experience in comparable offshore production or operational environments.
Strong knowledge of mechanical maintenance practices, equipment reliability, operational controls, procedures, and technical documentation.
Relevant trade or technical certification is required/desirable.
BOSIET/HUET and valid offshore medical certification where deployed offshore.
Other relevant technical or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
Technical Expertise
The successful candidates should demonstrate practical and recent experience in:
Rotating equipment maintenance.
Static equipment and valve maintenance.
Pumps, compressors, gearboxes, and mechanical drives.
Mechanical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
Equipment alignment and installation.
Lubrication and condition monitoring.
Preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance.
Maintenance planning and Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).
Shutdown, overhaul, commissioning, and equipment reinstatement.
Permit-to-Work (PTW), Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), and isolation procedures.

Execute mechanical maintenance activities in accordance with approved procedures and safe systems of work.
Apply appropriate isolation and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) requirements before commencing maintenance activities.
Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and approved tools and equipment.
Identify and escalate unsafe conditions, equipment defects, and mechanical integrity concerns.
Stop or escalate unsafe work practices or conditions.
Promptly report incidents, near misses, equipment defects, and abnormal operating conditions.
Maintain all required offshore medical, safety, technical, and professional certifications throughout the assignment.
