Main Duties
Planning, providing and evaluating nursing care to patients based on individual needs.
Ensuring patients’ nursing needs such as physical, psychological and mental needs are attended to.
Providing individually tailored care to patients.
Assisting patients to perform ordinary daily activities.
Monitoring, recording and reporting changes in patient symptoms.
Maintaining accurate reports on patients.
Assessing patient needs and planning nursing care.
Participating in ward rounds with medical and nursing personnel.
Assisting medical staff in the examination and treatment of patients.
Assisting in clinical investigative procedures.
Orienting and supervising new staff and students.
Ensuring proper coordination and smooth running of ward activities.
Ensuring good communication with patients and other departments for continuity of care.
Maintaining a safe and clean working environment by adhering to set standards and procedures.
Ensuring discharged patients take prescribed drugs, discharge summaries and follow up on scheduled appointments.
Participating in quality improvement initiatives within the department and providing reports as required.Required Qualifications for the Position
Required Qualifications for the Position
Diploma in KRCHN/KRN/M.
BSc Nursing.
Higher National Diploma in Midwifery.
Computer proficiency.
Registration with NCK and valid practicing licence.
