Main Duties
Assist dentists and maxillofacial surgeons in providing patient care across all dental specialties including orthodontics, paediatric dentistry, periodontics, and oral maxillofacial surgery.
Clean, pack, prepare, and sterilize instruments and equipment; deliver them to treatment areas; suction and pass instruments to dentists.
Prepare treatment rooms for patients by following prescribed procedures and protocols.
Educate patients on oral hygiene, plaque control, postoperative instructions, and other dental treatment procedures.
Communicate with patients, schedule appointments, answer telephone calls, and handle patient enquiries.
Take intraoral dental Xrays.
Maintain patient confidence and protect operations by keeping information confidential.
Ensure all procedures and consumables used are charged on Lifeline.
Prepare and maintain patient records and make them available when needed by the dentist.
Liaise with credit control and insurance companies for patient clearance.
Stock treatment rooms and monitor inventory from Pharmacy, Surgical, and General Stores.
Safeguard hospital tools and equipment in custody.
Track consumables in the unit and update the Head of Department on reorder levels.
Carry out receptionrelated duties for the Dental Department when required.
Participate in quality improvement initiatives within the department and (adsbygoogle=window.adsbygoogle||[]).push({});provide reports as required.
Perform any other duty assigned from time to time.Required Qualifications and Skills
Required Qualifications and Skills
Certificate/Diploma in Dental Assistance/Oral Hygiene.
Higher Diploma in Dental Assistance/Oral Hygiene desirable.
Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a busy setup.
Strong customer care skills.
Telephone handling skills.
Good organisational skills.
Attention to detail.
