The Massage Therapist will be responsible for delivering professional massage treatments, maintaining high standards of hygiene and client care, and ensuring that every client enjoys a relaxing, safe, and personalised wellness experience.
The ideal candidate must possess practical massage therapy skills, a warm and professional demeanour, good communication skills, and the ability to make clients feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their sessions.
Massage Therapy & Service Delivery
- Perform professional massage treatments based on client needs, preferences, and approved service offerings.
- Deliver treatments such as Swedish massage, deep tissue massage, relaxation massage, and other techniques within the therapist's training and competence.
- Assess client preferences, pressure tolerance, comfort levels, and relevant contraindications before commencing treatments.
- Explain treatment procedures clearly and obtain client consent before beginning each session.
- Adapt techniques appropriately to support relaxation, relieve muscular tension, and enhance the client's overall wellness experience.
- Maintain professional boundaries and ensure all treatments are conducted in accordance with company policies and ethical standards.
Client Experience & Relationship Management
- Welcome clients warmly and maintain a calm, reassuring, and professional approach.
- Understand client expectations and recommend suitable treatments within the approved service menu and scope of practice.
- Check client comfort throughout each session and respond appropriately to feedback.
- Maintain client confidentiality and handle personal information discreetly.
- Encourage repeat bookings through excellent service delivery and appropriate follow-up.
- Escalate client concerns, adverse reactions, or service complaints to the relevant supervisor.
Hygiene, Safety & Treatment Room Management
- Prepare treatment rooms, massage beds, towels, oils, and equipment before each appointment.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and ensure treatment areas are clean, sanitised, and properly organised.
- Change linens and disinfect relevant surfaces and equipment between clients.
- Follow approved infection prevention, health, safety, and sanitation procedures.
- Monitor supplies and report low stock, damaged equipment, or maintenance needs promptly.
- Follow appropriate procedures for clients with contraindications and refer or decline treatment where necessary.
Sales & Service Recommendations
- Explain available massage treatments, packages, and wellness services to clients.
- Recommend suitable add-on services or treatment packages where appropriate and within professional competence.
- Support repeat bookings and client retention through quality service and personalised recommendations.
- Work with the customer experience and sales team to promote relevant wellness offerings.
- Contribute to agreed service revenue and customer satisfaction targets without compromising professional ethics.
Teamwork & Operational Compliance
- Coordinate with the spa lead, customer experience team, and other service professionals to ensure smooth daily operations.
- Adhere to appointment schedules, treatment durations, dress code, attendance requirements, and reporting procedures.
- Maintain accurate treatment records and report incidents or client feedback as required.
- Participate in training, service reviews, and performance assessments.
- Follow the company's SOPs, employee handbook, and established service standards.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Relevant training or certification in massage therapy or a recognised wellness-related discipline.
- Proven practical experience as a Massage Therapist in a spa, wellness centre, hotel, clinic, or similar professional environment.
- Demonstrable competence in at least one professional massage technique, with knowledge of additional techniques considered an advantage.
- Good understanding of massage contraindications, client safety, hygiene, and professional boundaries.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A calm, respectful, client-focused attitude and the ability to maintain discretion.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, safe treatment environment.
- Ability to work collaboratively and deliver consistent service quality.
- Willingness to work onsite and meet the operational requirements of the business.
- Experience serving clients in a premium spa, luxury hospitality, or wellness environment.
- Knowledge of different massage oils, products, equipment, and treatment protocols.

This is a full-time, onsite position. The successful candidate must be available to work according to the business's approved schedule, including weekends or public holidays where required.
