The successful candidate will be responsible for building strong consumer brands, driving market penetration, strengthening consumer engagement and supporting sustainable revenue and market-share growth across the company's product portfolio.
This role requires a seasoned FMCG marketing professional with strong experience in brand management, consumer insights, product innovation, trade marketing and go-to-market execution.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and execute the company's overall marketing and brand strategy in line with business growth objectives.
Lead brand positioning, portfolio strategy and annual marketing planning across product categories.
Drive brand awareness, consumer penetration, trial, repeat purchase and loyalty.
Develop integrated consumer campaigns across traditional, digital, experiential and other relevant channels.
Lead consumer and market research to understand customer behaviour, category trends, competitors and emerging opportunities.
Translate consumer and market insights into product, packaging, pricing and communication strategies.
Lead new product development and go-to-market strategies in collaboration with R&D, Sales, Production and Supply Chain.
Partner with the Sales team to develop effective trade and shopper marketing strategies across distributors, wholesalers, modern trade and general trade.
Drive in-market brand visibility, merchandising, promotions and consumer activations.
Monitor competitor activities, pricing, market share and category performance.
Develop and manage the annual marketing budget and ensure effective allocation of marketing investments.
Measure campaign effectiveness and return on marketing investment, ensuring marketing activities deliver measurable commercial impact.
Build and strengthen the digital presence of the company's brands across relevant platforms.
Work closely with Sales, Finance, Supply Chain and Production to align marketing initiatives with revenue, distribution and profitability objectives.
Lead, coach and develop the Marketing team to deliver agreed business and brand objectives.
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business Administration or a related discipline. A Master's degree or relevant professional qualification is an advantage.
10+ years of progressive marketing experience, with significant experience in the FMCG/consumer goods industry.
Minimum of 4 - 5 years in a senior marketing, brand or category leadership role.
Proven track record of building and growing consumer brands.
Strong experience in brand management, consumer insights, trade marketing, category management and go-to-market strategy.
Demonstrated experience launching and scaling new consumer products.
Strong understanding of the Nigerian FMCG market, consumer behaviour and distribution landscape.
Experience managing marketing budgets and measuring marketing ROI.
Strong commercial, analytical and financial acumen.
Proven experience leading and developing marketing teams.
