Project Summary

MEDS is implementing Access to Health Program (ATH) in partnership Bohringer Ingelheim to improve access to quality and affordable innovator brands for the treatment and management of non-communicable diseases across all 47 counties in Kenya, supporting the prevention, treatment and management of non-communicable diseases and other health priorities. The Project shall run for two years with a possible extension upon successful implementation.

The position will report to the Business Development and Marketing Manager and will be responsible for ensuring that the organization's medical laboratory commodities are effectively marketed, meet regulatory standards, and are utilized optimally by healthcare providers and laboratories through expert product knowledge, customer support, and strategic market analysis.

Key responsibilities:

  • Detailing of the products under Access to Health program to generate prescriptions.
  • Collaborate closely with the Field Officers integrating technical expertise with sales approaches to enhance team effectiveness and drive Patient enrolment for Boehringer Access to health program
  • Coordinate CMEs and training initiatives for both customers and internal teams, facilitating consistent knowledge transfer and skill development to maintain high standards of ATH product knowledge to generate Patient enrolment
  • Visit customer locations to conduct real-world product demonstrations, showcasing product value and contributing to successful sales
  • Collect and document customer feedback during and after product use, contributing valuable insights to product development

Job requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in relevant Health Sciences e.g Pharmacy, Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory or related field with marketing experience Or Business Degree in Marketing/ Management/Administration or related field with relevant health-related Diploma e.g. Clinical Medicine, Nursing, Medical Laboratory or pharmacy and marketing experience
  • Registration with relevant regulatory professional body
  • Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience as a Sales/ Marketing Executive
  • Own vehicle and Clean driving licence with at least two years of continuous driving experience
  • Technical Competencies: Business acumen; Marketing skills; customer service and Negotiation skills
  • Behavioural attributes: High level of integrity, interpersonal skills, Communication skills; Problem solving skills; Analytical skills

Experience working within health product supply chains, including experience with a distributor, wholesaler, central medical store, national procurement agency, manufacturer, or similar organization. Detailed understanding of public and private sector procurement processes, including regulatory compliance, export requirements, contracting, inventory and stock management, and delivery terms and conditions. Proven quantitative and analytical abilities - spanning market intelligence, forecasting, and supply chain/product landscape assessments - used to inform product introduction, scale-up, and business or delivery strategy decisions. Experience designing procurement strategies and/or contracting terms and conditions to facilitate improved product access. Experience translating analysis into practical recommendations and supporting implementation in the global health sector. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of deliverables in a fast-paced environment. Recent experience as a project and/or workstream lead in global health, managing competing priorities, partner scopes, and budget compliance. English language fluency required. Preferred Qualifications & Experience Experience with maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) product markets including their procurement and distribution. Experience with new business development, fundraising, grant writing, or proposal development. Experience with health financing, national health insurance, reimbursement systems, or reimbursement schedules. Established networks across the global health sector and experience convening public, private, and development-sector stakeholders. French language proficiency.
