We are seeking experienced and technically competent Marine Technicians to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation and maintenance of marine equipment and systems within offshore and marine environments.
The successful candidates will be responsible for inspecting, maintaining, troubleshooting, and supporting the reliability of marine mechanical systems, hydraulic equipment, mooring and deck machinery, pumps, winches, capstans, and marine auxiliaries.
The role requires strong hands-on technical skills, sound troubleshooting ability, and a strong commitment to safety and operational discipline in demanding offshore environments.
- Inspect, maintain, and troubleshoot marine equipment and mechanical systems.
- Support the maintenance and operation of winches, capstans, mooring equipment, pumps, hydraulic systems, and marine auxiliaries.
- Perform equipment testing, lubrication, adjustment, alignment, and component replacement as required.
- Support safe cargo handling, lifting, mooring, and marine transfer activities within authorized responsibilities.
- Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance in accordance with approved procedures and maintenance schedules.
- Maintain tools, spare parts, equipment status, maintenance records, and technical documentation.
- Identify equipment defects and abnormal conditions and escalate them to the appropriate supervisor.
- Participate in emergency drills and support the maintenance of high marine safety standards.
- Support shutdown, inspection, repair, and equipment reinstatement activities as required.
Qualifications & Experience
- HND or Technical Diploma in Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- 8 - 12 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry, with strong upstream E&P exposure.
- Proven hands-on experience in comparable offshore or marine operating environments.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE requirements, operational controls, maintenance procedures, and technical documentation.
- Relevant STCW, offshore safety, or marine trade certification is desirable.
- Other relevant technical or professional certifications will be an added advantage.
The successful candidate should demonstrate practical and recent experience in:
- Marine mechanical systems and equipment.
- Hydraulic systems and hydraulic-powered equipment.
- Winches, capstans, mooring systems, and deck machinery.
- Marine pumps and auxiliary systems.
- Preventive and corrective maintenance.
- Mechanical inspection, testing, lubrication, and component replacement.
- Technical troubleshooting and fault diagnosis.
- Equipment reliability and maintenance practices.
- Permit-to-Work (PTW), isolation, and safe work systems.
- Marine emergency-response and safety procedures.
